How do I create a public chart with manually entered data?

  1. You can create a new chart by clicking on the "Create New Chart" button located on the top right corner of the screen

  2. You will be prompted to make a selection about which type of data you want to use. Choose "Enter Data Manually"

  3. When you enter your studio, a chart with sample data in your Data Editor will be displayed. Enter your new data and new categories into the Data Editor. The enter command will bring you into the next row within the column you're working in. Click on Edit to delete rows or columns, set sort orders, update your percentage sign formatting, clear your data or transpose it (1). Refer to the Insert menu to add columns or rows (2). Click on the column header to rename it (3). If you have a spreadsheet you'd like to use, upload it (4). When you're finished editing, save your data; rename your chart from the save menu (5).

  1. Upon exiting from your Data Editor, your chart will be ready for further customization. All newly created data series will be listed in your ChartToolbox. You may use the pop-ups to guide your data into the correct axis (1) or simply drag and drop your data series into the axis of your choice (2).

  1. To remove a data series from your chart, click on the "x" of the data series you want to remove on the data series panel that runs across the top (1) or by clicking directly into the data series on the chart (2).

  1. Use the Chart ToolBox to select your chart type, templates, format, and other options in order to customize your chart. Rely on your templates to jump-start your formatting. Choose from any of the several  pre-populated templates enclosed within the template tab of your Chart ToolBox.

  1. You must enter your chart's title within "Click here to enter Chart Title". This determines your ChartChannel chart page name and URL. Without it, your chart will not publish to the ChartChannel correctly.

If you accidentally removed it, you can find it in the Insert menu

  1. Be sure to make full use of your Description section located within the Format tab . Within this section, you have the opportunity to maximize your SEO with keywords and tags. The content in the top field will populate into the About section of your chart (on the lower left corner). This content along with your tags will be integrated into your embed code so that your chart becomes searchable. When you make your chart public, it will also be published to the iCharts ChartChannel. Select which category you'd like your chart to be featured under.

  1. Click the "File" menu to save and store your chart in your gallery.  When the green load bar disappears, it is your indicator that your chart has been saved.

  1. After you have saved your chart, you can now share it on the web (website, blog) through your "Share" menu. Select "Add to a Web Site" and "Public Chart". If you already prepared your description, review your description, and search tags. Double check that you've selected the right ChartChannel category. Click "Save" to retain your changes. When you're happy with your content, click "Publish". This action will post your chart automatically to the ChartChannel and you can now publish it on your web site. You must click publish in order to post your chart to the ChartChannel and generate your embed code.

  1. As soon as you click Publish" you can post the chart to any number of social networks (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google Plus). Copy the embed code and paste it into your blog or web site.
