What preparation is required for uploading data files from external sources?

The following are the rules for acceptable data format:

1. The first column will name the series used in the chart and is often a non-numerical value
2. The first row should contain information and not any blank values
3. All following rows should contain the tab separated values for the series defined in the first row
4. Even if the data separator is “tab” the file extension is “csv” as for comma separated files.
